Nicholas Bettinger
Nicholas Bettinger is a shareholder and director with McDonald Sanders.
A graduate of Baylor University, Mr. Bettinger earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1988 and a law degree in 1991. He is licensed to practice in all Texas state courts, and is admitted to practice in federal courts in the Northern, Eastern and Southern Districts of Texas. Mr. Bettinger joined McDonald Sanders in 1991 and immediately began working with nonsubscribers to workers’ compensation insurance in the state of Texas. His representation of nonsubscribers includes consulting with employers on the legal requirements to become a nonsubscriber, preparation of welfare benefit plans to provide quality benefits to employees in lieu of workers’ compensation benefits, educating management on proper administration of injury benefits plans, training supervisors on workplace safety, counseling employers on specific claims, and representing employers in lawsuits and arbitration proceedings brought by injured employees. In his 20+ years of experience in representing nonsubscribers, Mr. Bettinger has worked with employers throughout the state. He is a regular speaker for TXANS (Texas Association of Responsible Nonsubscribers).
With his experience in technology and network administration, Mr. Bettinger advises businesses on the legal aspects of technology, including the use and regulation of electronic communications and social media. He has given numerous speeches on the legal and ethical issues involving social media.
Mr. Bettinger also brings many years of experiences in representing clients in commercial landlord-tenant disputes, having represented some of the nation’s largest commercial real estate companies.
