Nicholas Bettinger Born: April 14, 1966 Mr. Bettinger joined McDonald Sanders in 1991 and immediately began working with nonsubscribers to workers’ compensation insurance in the state of Texas. His representation of nonsubscribers includes consulting with employers on the legal requirements to become a nonsubscriber, preparation of welfare benefit plans to provide quality benefits to employees in lieu of workers’ compensation benefits, educating management on proper administration of the injury benefits plan, training supervisors on workplace safety, counseling employers on specific claims, and representing employers in lawsuits and arbitration proceedings brought by injured employees. In his 15 years of experience in representing nonsubscribers, Mr. Bettinger has worked with employers throughout the state. He is a regular speaker for TXANS (Texas Association of Responsible Nonsubscribers). Mr. Bettinger also works with employers on such labor and employment issues as state and federal compliance, employee relations, and the handling of claims and lawsuits. With his experience in network administration, Mr. Bettinger advises employers on the legal aspects of technology in the workplace. Due to the frequent changes to regulations involving motor carriers, Mr. Bettinger advises employers on compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, including driver qualification, hours of service rules, and drug & alcohol testing. His representation includes defending interstate and intrastate motor carriers in personal injury lawsuits. Mr. Bettinger is licensed to practice in all Texas state courts, and is admitted to practice in federal courts in the Northern and Southern districts of Texas. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas (Computer Law Section) and the Tarrant County Bar Association. A graduate of Baylor University, Mr. Bettinger earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1988 and a law degree in 1991. |
