Rory was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1981. In law school, Rory served as an Associate Editor of the Baylor Law Review (1980-1981). He is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts in the Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals, 5th Circuit. Rory is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Tarrant County Bar Association (Chairman: Labor and Employment Law Section, 1999-2000). He previously served as the Fort Worth Chapter President of the Federal Bar Association (1988-1989).

Rory is Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in the areas of Labor and Employment Law, and Civil Trial Law.
