Representative Experience & Services
During his summers in law school, Chris clerked for two Fort Worth law firms. He also spent time as a summer clerk for Judge John Chupp of the 141st Judicial District Court of Tarrant County and Judge Donald Pierson of Tarrant County Court at Law No. 1.
Chris focuses his practice primarily on real estate and business transactions as well as corporate formation and governance. His real estate work encompasses a broad range of matters, including acquisitions, dispositions, and leasing of residential, commercial, farm and ranch, and unimproved real property. This work involves the preparation and negotiation of purchase and sale agreements, leases, subordination agreements, estoppel certificates, conveyance instruments, and easements, along with the review of title documents, surveys, and other due diligence items.
On the business side, Chris advises clients on mergers and acquisitions across various industries, representing both buyers and sellers. This work involves the preparation and negotiation of letters of intent, asset purchase agreements, stock purchase agreements, bills of sale and assignments, disclosure schedules, and other due diligence items.
Chris also counsels clients regarding entity formation, governance, and operations tailored to align with their strategic goals. Beginning at startup and continuing on through growth and expansion, Chris advises clients on entity selection and structuring, including preparation of documentation for the formation of corporations, limited liability companies, and partnerships. He also assists with preparation of annual corporate maintenance documentation in compliance with state filing requirements.
In addition to his transactional and corporate experience, Chris has been heavily involved in a number of commercial litigation cases, including real estate disputes, complex business / business divorce disputes, and underpayment of oil and gas royalty disputes. His litigation background provides added value for our clients and gives him the ability to better anticipate the opportunities and challenges they may encounter.
